ive been thinking recently about what makes me "smile" after going to the art gallery and these are 2 of the things that make me smile...........betty and daisy

last friday, we managed to go out for breakfast 2gether which hasnt happened for goodness knows how long! betty enjoyed her toast, i had a bacon sarnie and darren had a full english. anyway, we later went for a walk around the art gallery again as i love their exhibition atm which is entitled "smile" and we discovered that maddies picture was still up in there. these were some of my fave parts of the show.

it was maddies 5th birthday on tuesday-she was really spoilt and spent her £ on a build a bear bunny dressed in smurfette pjs and bunny slippers. we took the girls to Blackpool on thursday and they had a fab time on the small rides and on the grabbers. I managed to win 2 smurfs and a plush cupcake (which i have been after for ages). Friday was our 6th wedding anniversary, so darren and i managed to steal 2 hours away to try Nandos for the first time. Saturday, the girls and i watched Rango for the first time whilst Darren built a flowerbed outside, i decorated it at the top with glow in the dark stones.

yesterday-was my monthly crop and i was getting worried that there werent going to be many ladies there due to other commitments-however there were 16 of us and i took my radio for company. i took my 3 books that im altering atm-travel, family and home book. i managed to manage to do pages in each of these books as the distraction wasnt there!!!! my girls came to fetch me and proceeded to dance on the stage...........

1 more of the pages that i managed to complete...... the other photo is of a card that maddie made me to say thankyou for letting her craft in the room-love her x

craft room update-maddie and i spent last monday in there again and had lots of fun!

i also have some photos of a project i have been working on-we are preparing to re-decorate our dining room and i want bright funky patterns in it, like a tiki bar/hawaiian theme. we bought these plain white chairs for 99p from ebay so with some tester pots of paint i had i decided to have a go at sprucing them up. im just waiting for the hubby to finishing varnishing them now.

i spent nearly all day yesterday in the craft room with maddie-she loved the freedom and discovered my punches and glitter paper (i dont know if this was a good idea), we had the radio on-singing, bowl of sweets and our bottles of juice. i flitted between working on my altered home, family and travel books. i also had chance to update the girls baby record books. here are some of my pages;

my requirements were flowers, bunting, cute posters, fairy lights and garlands. the pompom garland on my shelf was made yesterday-the in-laws bought me the 1 direction mega poster.

here at last are some photos of my craftroom-its still not finished but its getting there and i love it;

sooooo sorry

sorry all-but as a family we have been going through a real tough time at present so that explains the lack of updates, my craft room aka the garage is nearly finished well minus a door. the girls love it and have been putting up their fave posters and drawings on their side of the room. the first thing i did was to start painting flowers on my wall and i loved recreating memo boards from taped areas on the walls.

OMG-what has annelies bates done to me- i was awake at 6.30am and instead of getting my rest i got up and started scrapping. I didnt get to bed till 1.15am as it was as i was busy scrapping too.
I have been working more on my family book and have also started an "our house" book and a junk journal using bottle tops for the title.
There is also plans for starting a travel book too.

When Maddie came from school, she wanted to craft too and altered a picture of Belle the Princess (a future artist me thinks!)

i have been able to do some more of my book 2day, im half way through thr book and completed about 10 pages today. I had to give up when Betty came home as she was playing in my craft bag and pinching my glue.

Wednesday, 16 March 2011

On saturday, at the monthly crop we were introduced to altered books, a class led by a Ranger educator- Anneliese Bates.

I had so much fun folding, painting and altering the pages and have continued working on my book at home too. Im starting to look at junk mail differently too as my mind is thinking of how the mail could be used on a page. The recycling box will be halved at this rate.

Thanks to Anneliese for releasing my creativity again.

I recently came across a fantastic idea for storing bags and coats-it was in 1 of my moms magazines. I showed it to the hubby and he loved the idea-so we will have to wait and see what happens..... watch this space.

PANCAKE DAY-this is always a challenge for me as i have an intolerance to eggs but love pancakes, i have asked various chefs for receipes and had no joy. Thats why i love the internet as i now have numerous reciepes for egg free pancakes and cooking. In making our pancakes, we replaced the eggs with apple sauce and the pancakes came out very light and fluffy.
